i had my friend print out a pic for me but their printer was bad and it turned it all funny looking

If you obtain a photo, or can take a pic of one, then go to your local library and have them do it. They might charge you, but it will only cost a dime or two per page.

If the pic is online, just access it at the library(don't forget to write down the web address) and have it printed off from there.

so the best thing is to go to a salon who has either a laptop or Pc so u can either show it to them on theirs or save it in a CD and hand it over to them to see.

Save the picture to a disc, or on your e-mail, and I am sure most copy shops (ie: Staples, drug marts that offer copying) might be able to print it out for you.

The higher the number of developer...the lighter it makes the color. I've never seen a 6 and 9. But when I'm dying hair black or dark brown, I use a 10...and when I'm giving someone hilights with bleach I use a 40.

Just remember the lower the number the darker the color, the higher the number the lighter the color.

10 vol = 3%

20 vol = 6%

a 6% developer will give u up to 2 levels of lift and make your hair go darker! A 9% developer will give u four levels of lift so depending on how much lighter u want your hair you can use either! If you are using a bleach solution please be careful not to leave it on too long whether your using 6 or 9% as your hair may break with this! My advice would be to go to the hairdressers as we no exactly what colour to put on your hair!

I think that would be great. What's in is what looks best on you. Talk to your stylist. It looks like your hair is thin so bringing up the length and adding an angle to it may give it the appearance of having more volume and body. It may also make it look even healthier. You look young so if you don't like it, it will grow out and you can try something else.

They had the twins hair cut in May/June (according to GM blog)

The tests would have meant something if they had had them done at the time. As it is they look like a half baked attempt to build a dodgy defence. That's a shame.

I have always thought that it was unlikely that a couple of doctors would drug their own children. dunno about websites...but you should have it loose, completely natural, but with a tiara or circlet- that would look loverly. most people get their hair curled for the prom, and then pile it high on their heads! it looks so silly and common.

To me, it is a day to look like Cinderella before midnight of course, Get extensions, they have combs now that fit right in, it doesnt require glue and all the time waiting to get it sewn in. Two years ago I used to have really healthy hair, but then I decided to die it blonde (natural hair color is brunette). That was my first time ever dieing my hair.It totally dried my hair right up causing major frizz and split ends.Ofcourse once my roots started to show I had to die my hair back to brown. I've been using special shampoos and conditioners made specifically for dry/damaged hair but they are not working. I've gone to the hairdresser's so many times to get inches cut off. I've also tried leave in conditioners. When I wash my hair I usually leave the conditioner in for ten minutes. I take vitamins and drink lot's of water but nothing seems to work for me. Please help me :(

Try using shampoo/conditioner for curly hair like kms curl up, or iso bouncy, or even alterna curl life. Its ingredients are geared for curly hair. Using a styling product for curly hair helps also. Do you diffuse your hair, that's also good too.

i have really curly hair [when it's shorter] but my hair loses the curl the longer it gets [it's down past my bust now] and i miss the curls. so here's what i do to get my curls back:

-i use herbal essences Totally Twisted shampoo and conditioner. [it's a purple bottle]

-i also use stuff by Aveda but it's about $50 a bottle... so if you're not looking to spend alot of money, that's not the way to go.

-i also use Set Me Up Gel by herbal essences [this one is in a teal/green bottle]

and i use hair spray [in the same color can as the gel] in extra hold.

1. i shampoo my hair [ONLY the roots] %26amp; rinse out (do that twice)

2. i condition my hair [but NOT the roots] and let it set while i take the rest of my shower.

3. i rinse out my hair in cooler water [NOT hot water]

4. i put a towel on my head [but don't rub the towel around to dry] and get dressed, do my make-up.. that kinda thing while most of the moisture gets out of my hair.

5. i take a quarter size [or more] of gel and scruntch [make a fist with hair in it] it all throughout my hair.

6. i add a little volume to the roots but flipping my head and spraying the underneath then a LIGHT coating on my hair.

7. scruntch one last time.

then leave it down or style it.

after you're done.

DON'T play around with it or it will lose it's curl and you're back where you started.

You can start by gradually dying it a light color. Start with a light brown or maybe even a blonde. Just do this every few weeks. Each time pick a lighter shade, until you have the color you want.That's if you want to do it fhe cheap way.

But if you go to the hair dresser they can easily do it fast and make it look perfect! Plus less damage from the constant dye. Since professional dye is different and doesn't damage as much.

Does/did anybody have/had a young child with unusual body hair?

My three and a half year old daughter did not have any excessive hair at birth. Around one year old, she had a small area in the middle upper part of her back with a few extra hairs. This middle area has become much thicker with long (yet soft, not coarse) hairs and the rest of her back has more spread out dark hairs. It is very noticeable. I showed her doctor at her three year appointment (though it was not nearly as heavy/spread out as it is now) and he said that it was not totally unusual and to keep an eye on it. Her arms and now legs have developed dark hairs on them--At this point not really objectionable but if they got any worse, they would be noticeable. I am her mom and have some issues with excess body hair (no other known history in family at all) but my issues didn't start until puberty. With such an early start, I worry about her later when everyone naturally develops more body hair. Has anyone had this happen to their child? Thanks!

I can't give you any first hand advice, but would suggest consulting the dr. again. If it's still bad once she is older, closer to teen years, she can have laser treatments to remove some of the excess hair (like on her back.) These are very effective for permanent hair removal but I doubt anyone would do this (and they probably shouldn't) until she is much older.

Honey, your talking to someone who comes from a family of hairy people! My grand daughter developed this patch of hair about the size of a quarter under her neck and yes its a bit dark and she's "fuzzy" with dark fuzz between her shoulder blades I think that the more fuss YOU make of it the more fuss your child is likely to make of it. Actually not all of us are hairy, my daughter has some hair on her arms, I have none on my arms or legs but I do have some on my back and while I dated I never had a problem with men. My Mother was hairless but my nieces are hairy as all get out! So you just don't know who's going to get it!

i have really coarse curly hair. not a single straightener worked on it until i bought a CHI. definately check it out. it turned my hair into a beautiful slick shiny straight head of hair..in under 20 minutes...and i have long hair. it didnt fry my hair like all of my other straighteners did. it helped keep my hair moist. actually- i found it at JCPenny salons and they have blow dryers and curling irons too. it is over $100 dollars but i've had it for over a year now and it heats up sooooo fast and stays hot, works super fast. just the best thing i've found..and i've tried everything. even getting my hair permanently straight didnt work. only the CHI. I am interested in knowing if laboratories are out there to which doctors can send hair samples (hopefully only the hair above the skin) to get results like the quantity of potassium.

A doctor gave such a test many years ago but maybe he did it with his own equipment. I'm aware that its results are not nearly as good as a blood test and I have already had blood drawn and am awaiting results.

Few such tests are typically given but a little surface hair would be so easy to give up that I'd like to know. David Letterman had his hair tested on one of his shows so its not unheard of.

Eventually it was Lucille Ball red. After awhile my DH said that he didn't really like the red. When I stopped using that shampoo, several weeks later my hair was blonde again

I don't know why you'd want to get rid of naturally strawberry blond hair...that's one of the most beautiful shades there is!

As for more blonde, spend more time in the sun (wearing sunscreen on your skin) or get some of the Pantene shampoo that is designed to increase the blondness of hair. Both of these will produce a gradual change.

As for more brown, don't even bother. Ugh.

my pure white hair with no trace of any colour in it for about twenty years, is now changing to a brown colour that it was when i was young. I am over sixty and can see colour appear every day and it is like turning the clock back as if it eventually covers the whole head, i could even dye it if i wanted to as i couldn,t do that when my hair was white because the white roots would show through in a few days. So with colour coming back to my hair my roots are coming through brown and i feel this is an amazing breakthrough for me. Could anyone answer if they have heard of this happening to anyone else before.

Put your bangs in front of your face and look in the mirror and cut them the length you want. The rest of your hair is more tricky, but its not just the cut that makes it look like that. You'll need to cut shorter pieces, and then you have to make them stand out with hairspray and backcombing, which is when you take a comb and brush hair towards your head.

My mom ( who is in her late 60s) was experiencing the same thing. She ended up going to a dermatologist who diagnosed "alopecia". ( You can research this on line.) My mom had to go for several treatments where they gave her shots in her scalp ( she said it did not hurt, but was rather costly). After about 6 visits, I believe, she did start to see a difference and her hair is coming back in nicely.

If you can't afford to do something like that, maybe a visit to a good stylist would be able to recomend a style that would kind of hide or disguise the thinning. Good Luck!

This is potentially serious. There is a condition called alopecia which is an autoimmune disease that causes hair loss. You might want to check with your doctor. Of course it could just be the pictures that make your hair look thin (since you haven't noticed it while styling - only in the pics. Sometimes too though, if you wear tight ponytails in the same spot all the time or too tight braids/barrettes it can cause a similar result. You can try different hairstyles first to see if there's a difference or rogaine/propecia treatments (available in drugstores) can help. Remember you loose like 100 hairs a day normally too!

Alright, tomorrow my friends and i are going to dye my hair with as many colors as possible. i have a medium shade of brown hair so what are some colors that would actually show up in it. And anyway how much does hair dye cost?

anything darker would show up really nice, to get a lighter color you need to leave it in longer, or get a bleach first*

i think people always get that more dramatic look when they go darker =]. and hair dye can run anywhere from 3 dollars to 20 dollars, all depends on where you go.

drug store hair dye is usually about 7 to 12 bucks a pop. But Revlon ColorSilk seems to be like 3.99 no matter where I go. On your color hair, the very dark shades and very light shades will show up the most. Using the blonde dye though will most likely give you orange hair since it's hard to dye hair blonde unless you're using a specific bleaching kit. Not sure what kinda look you're going for but hope it works out, and have fun!

don't dye your hair as many colors as possible.try to make it look natural but still visible.try honey blonde ; i had brown hair and i got honey blonde highlights and i love it.it looks amazing.the cost of it depends on where you buy it.if you buy it at like cvs or something it will cost around $15.

If you have a medium shade of brown hair, then most likely awide variety of colors would show up. Colors such as a light blonde/yellow would show up best. But if you would like as many colors as possible, then even pinks and almost any other color would show up. And about the cost; if you we're going to a profesional salon to get it dyed, it would be any price from 100 dollars and up. However, if you were to buy the do it yourself kits, they should be maximum 15 dollars at a retailer. Hope I helped! =]

Lol make sure it's not permanent hair dye. Pretty much any color you want to put in will show up just don't do anything that doesn't match and i would go with highlighting don't do your whole head a hundred times with different colors.

I could tell you that no bright bold colors will show up unless you bleach your hair first, which by the way is very damaging and unhealthy for your hair. No lighter shades will show up at all unless they are bleached first. If you have dark hair it's really hard to get a bright color to hold to your hair or even show up so my suggestion would be to leave your hair alone. Once you dye it 480282 colors - your hair will feel coarse and it will take some major time to fix it!

Stay away from anything that adds volume or that is for curls. I would recommend you try Aussie Shampoo or any other brands that make different formulas for different hair styles. Go to your nearest grocery store and look at what each brand has to offer.

i have the same problem.i hav very straight hair and wanted to get it curly.i ended up buyin a curling shampoo and it relly does work.jus apply it to ure hair as shampoo when u wash it (afterwards use conditioner, it doesnt relly matter what type u use) then let ure hair dry.as u sleep overnight u should apply sponge rollers to ure hair (doin this doesnt damage ure hair at all becuz u dont use heat or chemicals) the next mornin jus take the curlers out and ure hair should be curly. comb it through a lil bit so it doesnt look messy, but not too much cuz then u dont want puffy hair. if u want u can also apply some hairspray, but if u dont want those chemicals in ure hair its ok, becuz the curl will still last the whole day anyways.

my sister got a perm and it took ages to go straight again. so i think u should think about it before u choose to get one. because if u hate it then u'll have to be straightening it every day and that could wreck it.

well...depends on how curly you want it. my suggestion would be to perm it...but if thats too curly for ya, you could always experiment with different shampoos, curlers, curling irons, etc. hope all works out....! =)

I suggest that you buy rollers and a perming solution, you need a light one to start with to see how you get on. A hairdresser will be able to perm your hair, this normally last a couple of months and then you might have to have it done again

well i braid mine, but it comes out like crimped..so if u want that?? and curling iron takes long..and u can use hair curlers..but u leave that overnight..and also when ur hair is damp.put lots of gel and put it in 2 messy buns with like a lot of twists..and leave it overnight..and ull have wavy hair..or u can use scrunching gel =)..so much to choose =)

Shampoos that claim to curl hair are just sham without "poo". Shape, colour and texture depend completely on genes and diet!!

The best thing to do would be to ask a dermatologist and a hairstylist if you can have it permed. That will, of course, reduce the variety of styles and the size of the waves or curls you can try with it, so check with your hairstylist and see which are the best frizz-proof serums and mousses available (so you can curl it with an iron and not damage it in the process).

If you do use a curling iron, use a ceramic coated iron (to prevent heat spots) and keep the setting low. Happi curlin!!

I'm a cosmetology student, and we use Matrix ColorSync and its a "demi-permanent" hair color, which means it deposits the hair color and doesnt "lift" so when your roots come back you can use the same color you used before and get the exact same results. I prefer shorter hair styles on guys, but that is just me. to me it sounds like you are leaning toward the showing her something different, so that is what I would suggest. and you might want to consider the backstory and how you actually feel about her, if you are worrying about your hair. ;) the only time i really freaked out was when a friend of mine whose hair was all one length and down the middle of his back, shaved his head. That was insane, but what you are describing doesn't sound that drastic, so go for the shorter one, as they say...change is good

Well, I used to have layered hair (for a really long time- ever since 4th grade and I cut it off to straight this spring (6th grade, so that's 2 years now)) and I think blow drying it will be good for you.

1. You can't do much with a towel- it's not good to rub your hair after a shower- your hair is delicate

2. It's just way faster and without it, you would spend hours on your hair.

If you use a hair dryer, then do the following steps...

*Use a wide-spaced finger comb or a brush with holes in it (the hair dryer may come with it but if not, get a brush with space in it so that the hair-dryer air can go through it while you're brushing)

*Do not use a brush that has very little holes between the fingers- it will damage your hair

*Go to pantene.com for more info- check out the dealing with straight hair section. (I'm assuming that you have straight hair- straight hair is better for layers) I don't have much time here, but I hope this helps.
