also...what's the process of getting your hair dyed...like do you go and show them pics of the color you want? or do they show you a chart of colors that you can pick from? I've never done it before so I was just wondering...thanks! :)

It can vary greatly. I've seen it as low as $30 to as high as $250! It depends a lot on the salon. Call ahead and they can give you their price range (it can vary in the salon based on if you have long or short hair, partial or full color, etc). The best way to go about getting your hair colored is to have a color already picked out from a magazine. If you're unsure, bring a couple of colors you're thinking about in and let the stylist help you decide. Otherwise, the color that your stylist is describing in her head, may be totally different from how it sounds in your head. Oh, and yes, they usually have hair magazines with lots of colors in them or actual hair samples, but I like picking my color out early so I don't feel like I'm making them wait on me to make up my mind!

Well usually if it is a skilled professional you will tell them the base color that you want to get, and they will help you choose by the color that will look best on you. Usually at cheap place it can start at $55 but it can go to like $300. It also depends on if you go for a highlight or a full color. Highlights and lowlights can get expensive. Don't go by price, ask your friends who they have gone through and how the customer service was! Hope this helps you. First it all depends on where you go.. if the salon is an "upscale type" then expect to pay more.. and depending if you just want to dye it or get it highlighted or lowlighted. . then the hi/lowlights would cost most.. I'd say just call various salons in your area and make an appointment for a consultation - that shouldn't cost you anything (hopefully)... just make sure it's a reputable salon , that way your hair doesn't come out looking bad or the complete opposite of what you intended it to look like...good luck!
