Forensic tests on the brother and sister of Madeleine McCann have shown that neither was sedated, it was claimed yesterday.

Portuguese newspapers have repeatedly alleged that hair samples from Kate and Gerry McCann閳ユ獨 children show that the couple sedated the two-year-old twins, Sean and Amelie, and Madeleine on the night that she disappeared.

But it is understood that the couple have commissioned their own tests, which found no traces of sedatives in hair samples from Sean and Amelie.

That is a good thing. But, the masses have already been poisoned by the press saying the mcCanns had drugged the children. I think alot of people don't take the time to read any new developements.

They had the tests done 4/5 months after the alledged abduction.

They had the twins hair cut in May/June (according to GM blog)

And possibly again since.

If someone had abducted your daugther and possibly sedated your children in order to not wake them up would you not want to know what possible toxins could be in their system before this date?

The tests would have meant something if they had had them done at the time. As it is they look like a half baked attempt to build a dodgy defence. That's a shame.

Just to add: the hair would only have to be 5 cm long to test for sedatives.

These were a seperate series of tests commissed by the mccanns themselves ....

Why has it taken them so long .. is it any wonder they came back clear?

Drugs can be found up on hair as late as six months after and low and behold it is over six months since she disappeared

Why did the mccanns refuse these tests which were offered in the early days ?

Doctors know about meds staying in blood and hair ..

the mccanns are far from stupid and these are not evidence as they were nottaken in the early stages all this shows is that the twins have not had any meds for the past few months

I have always thought that it was unlikely that a couple of doctors would drug their own children. But you could have all the tests done that were possible and still some people would not believe the results that is unless they were positive.That's the main problem on here, people only believe what they want to believe.
