When hilighting hair, what is the difference between 6% developer and 9% developer?

I have hilighted hair but my roots are showing and I want to do them at home. I have found Schwarzkopf blonde me powder but not sure if i should get 6% or 9% developer? I like the ice blonde colours but not white!

the 6% developer is probally best for blonde. The 9% will make it too light.

"I don't highlight my hair

The higher the number of developer...the lighter it makes the color. I've never seen a 6 and 9. But when I'm dying hair black or dark brown, I use a 10...and when I'm giving someone hilights with bleach I use a 40.

Just remember the lower the number the darker the color, the higher the number the lighter the color.

9% will give you more lift. And FYI if your hair is highlighted it is difficult to touch up at home unless you are experienced with foils.

Oh %26amp; that person above me is talking about Vol level of developer (peroxide) not percentage. Here is how that works:

10 vol = 3%

20 vol = 6%

30 vol = 9%

40 vol = 12%

a 6% developer will give u up to 2 levels of lift and make your hair go darker! A 9% developer will give u four levels of lift so depending on how much lighter u want your hair you can use either! If you are using a bleach solution please be careful not to leave it on too long whether your using 6 or 9% as your hair may break with this! My advice would be to go to the hairdressers as we no exactly what colour to put on your hair!
