hey just wonderin if any1 hs advice 4 me?

my hairs a medium brown colour and i dont know wether to die it black. ive been told its nt such a good idea cos roots will show through... and i havnt died my hair befre either so wll it damage my hair?

alot of hair dyes have conditioners in them that wont damage your hair. if you do dye it black, once your hair starts to grow your natural hair color will start to show, most people need a color touch up every 3-6 weeks (depending on how fast your hair grows). also, another thing to consider, once you dye it black the only way to get it another color (and get the results you want) is to let your natural hair color grow back. it is extremely hard to bleach or use any other hair dye color over black. if i were you, i wouldn't dye it black, choose a very dark brown instead (it looks black but is easier to color over and bleach).

depends what your natural color is, if it's not black your roots will show through and you will have to keep redoing it every 5 weeks or less to keep the roots from showing....

yes it will damage your hair, it would damage anybody's hair no matter how many times they've had their hair dyed. i dye my hair black (i have medium-dark brown hair) and i don't get roots because by the time the roots are coming in, the dye has faded a good amount so it just looks like my normal color. i'd say go for it if you really, 100%, want to dye your hair black. but if you're having doubts, i wouldn't recommend it until you know for certain what you want to do!

dying your hair black is a somewhat long term commitment. Your roots won't show too bad but it will be easy to touch them up since it's just black not someother complex color. It takes a long time to get black coloring out of your hair if you change your mind soon. So maybe go with a semi-permanent, althought I'm not sure what brand to get. From my experience black hair color stays on forever, unless you get your hair stripped, which can be damaging to your hair...

I've done it, and yes the roots grow out, it's a pain in the butt but if you really want it and can keep up with dying it go for it!

if you are a girl- You could do it, but it might not look so good especially if it it really dark

if a guy- this kid in my class dyed his black a few weeks ago and now you can see the brown popping up in the back and around the sides.

Of course dying your hair damages it a little especially if you do it continuously

Black makes most people look like they have a wig on. But I've noticed lately that they have "soft black" and "Brown/black" in most hair colors, which I would suggest. I really like dark hair, and I dye my hair black, but I use henna.
