Crazy spiky hair question?

i want to spike my hair in a messy way where my hair starts off short and gets long towards the end across my head.. how do i go about doing this?

see how his hair is all short on one of his head and it sweeps? .. cept there are some images where his hair goes up and spikes out from the other side of his head as well..

please help hair fashion designers!! this is for a show coming up.. and i really suck with hair and am super scared of hair dressers and of them even laying a hand on my head...

there is no way those hairstyles would stay in place w/o a bunch of gel, and then it would look dirty.

Not sure how to do the style, but you could use "Got 2B Glued" It's a hair gel that locks like glue. I love it.

First of all you need a really choppy layered style with longer layers on bottom. I would suggest asking your stylist to use a razor. As for styling, I would blow it straight, then use a straightening iron. I would only put a paste or glue on the ends to give it that 'spikey' look - if you put it towards the roots, your hair will sag and it won't have any volume (AKA look stupid). Then I would use volumizing hairspray towards the roots and some on the ends as well.

I've seen some Cosplayers who cut their hair and style it like his. Try searching for some cosplayers and find one. :-D Good luck!
