British short hair price please help?

Pricing of purebred cats is like real estate. If you want it, you pay whatever price the breeder sets -- which usually is whatever the market will bear. Usually purebred cats have 3 qualities: Show cat (most expensive), Breeder (doesn't meet the breed's standard completely), and Pet. Kittens are expensive, just because they're in demand the most. Show cats can be very expensive, but in order to sell a cat as a show cat, I'd want to see the documentation that they're a show cat, meaning they've been to a show and won something. Kittens can go to shows at 4 months, so they can't be show quality until then. Pet quality is the least expensive, meaning they either have a defect such as a kink in their tail or extra toes or head type is wrong or color is wrong -- they just don't meet the breed standard as well, but can make great pets (you'd have to agree to have them altered). Some will sell "retired breeders", which are older cats (probably middle-aged), for lower prices. Usually these are already "fixed", and can make great pets, too. Prices will vary widely.

The best way to find prices would be to do a search on British Shorthair Cat which should give you some breeder websites. Sometimes they publish their prices, or give you a price range. Some breeders do not ship, others ship in the U.S., and some may even ship overseas, but it is very expensive and requires a lot of documentation.

British short hair cats are a generic breed. If you put a little ad in your local pet shops I feel sure someone would be happy to give you one.

I have 14 British short hair cats I love them all and paid for none of them
