my hair is naturally drak brown i colored it black and it got darker and then i colored it medium brown and it looked like only my roots were colored and after medium brown i tried a lot of other colors but every color i tried just made it looke as if only my roots were colored or like i never colored it at all i never actually saw a real difference my mom said its cuz our hair is naturally dark a lighter shade wont show only black really shows other then that everything looks as if i've only colored my roots or just doesnt show at all i've tied preference feria garnier and none of these have made a change is there any brand that can make my hair lighter and i dont mean couple of shades i mean like from dark brown to jessica alba kinda hair color i dont think i will be able to get it colored at a salon so any ideas tips brands anything??

I used to use L'Oreal Ultimate Blonde to have lighter hair. I would wait a few weeks before re-coloring your hair. The ingredients in permanent color dye can dry out your hair, so make sure you use a deep conditioner. Why not get your hair highlighted instead?

What I did I bought a really light blonde and it turned my hair from dark black to a light brown. Then I bought it again and reapplied 2wks later and. Basically you just have to keep up with one light color that you really like.

either get it bleache first then dye it the color you absolutely want. or you could use blonde dye on your dark hair but the results will be a little golden or red undertone. it's still cute though
