Is it safe to bleach my hair again? Serious answers only please.?

I got my naturally almost-black hair bleached up to an orange-blonde color a little more than 2 weeks ago. The hair lady put a burgundy color PERMANENT dye on the bleached hair. I don't like the color, and want to put another color in. In order for this color to show I would need to bleach my hair up to a white-blonde. Can I bleach it again this soon?

(The hair color I'm putting in is semi-permanent, by the way. My hair is naturally very thick, and the hair lady said it held up very well when I bleached it the first time.)

Don't answer and tell me to ask a local hair stylist, I need answers from people with experiences in this matter.

I'm going to tell you this from experience... if she did that to your hair that then only thing you can do now is dye it very dark...

I know this is probably not what you wanted to hear, but I did that to my hair once... the double dying almost to white (my hair is dark) and it just burnt! it looked like hay. I did this 4 years ago and now it's when my hair is coming back to normal.

I wouldn't recommend it. you are going to destroy your hair...

Yes and no.

I used to bleach my hair like crazy. If i were you i'd leave my hair to rest, give it a deep conditoner (using deep conditionors) for a bout an hour or so.

Every time you wash your hair.

You don't need to bleach your hair to white to achieve the colour you want.

Bleaching your hair white will result in damage, brittle hair, very thin hair, course and so on.

I'd say let your hair rest. But if its going to be the second time EVER that you'll bleach your hair. Then it'll be okay.

Just deep condition!!!!!

And if you use heat styling tools, stay away from them for a week. And when you use them again put it on the LOW setting.

If you have only bleached your color once and then colored it once, you can definitely bleach it again. The question you have to ask yourself first is, what color do you want to end up with? With a permanent burgundy color in your hair now, you will have a hard time bleaching it out completely. Bleaching will only lighten it to a reddish, orangey color, but not a blonde or even a natural-looking light brown. If you want to go lighter, you might consider a warm, caramel brown. Going darker is much easier. You can try a darker red, a medium brown, or a dark brown.

From your question, it sounds like you want another burgundy. If this is the case, you will have to use a color remover (available at beauty supply stores, but not drugstores) to get rid of the permanet burgundy dye first, and then bleach for a brighter burgundy effect. You will NOT ever need to bleach your hair white. Even for a bright burgundy, lightening your hair to a yellow color will be fine. You might want to try a very bright burgundy if you manage to lighten your hair to the yellow stage.

Try testing a strand first when you apply the burgundy. Remember, you can always go lighter before you apply the darker color; but if you throw a dark color over hair that is not bleached to the proper lightness, you will have a hard time getting rid of the darker color.
