Vicodin Hair test question.?

I'm required for new employment to get a hair test.

About a year and a half ago I had an infection and was prescribed Vicodin for pain. I had only used about half of the prescription and stored the rest. I have only taken them occasionally for the past 1 1/2 years for extreme pain (after brutal workouts and one migraine) but that was it. Very sporadic, and usually with months difference in time. I recently played a golf game and I have tendinitis in my hand. I took my prescription anti-inflammatory but that didn't reduce the pain. When I got home, I took one of my last Vicodin and went to sleep. I took the last one the following day because of continued pain.

I have my test on Monday; I took the two pills 13/14 days prior to this. I'm pretty sure this will show up on the hair test. However, the problem is that I no longer have the bottle from the Vicodin. I think the only record would have to come from my doctor. Should I explain when I take my test, or wait and see what happens.

Vicodin Hair test question.?

As long as you had a prescription for it, it's not going to be a problem.

Vicodin Hair test question.?

This will probably show up on a hair test even from 1 1/2 yrs ago(cigarette up to 7 yrs). But it only stays in your urine for 72 hrs. I would probably wait to see unless they ask you prior to the test if you have had any drugs. Then, you should be able to go to the pharmacy where you got the script filled and they can give you a copy. They have to keep that stuff on file. Hope this helps.

Vicodin Hair test question.?

Yes, you should disclose this information to the lab tech who will do the test. It will show up in a hair test so you need to be upfront about it or your employer will think you are trying to hide something. Your pharmacy or Dr. will have this on file that it was prescribed to you and you can let your employer know that you have only taken the last of it due to a severe pain problem recently and as you are out of the prescription you will not be taking it any longer. Honesty is the best policy in this situation.
