I have dark brown hair, but i want the blue to show up. What can i do? and uh how can i do it?

I dyed my hair blue many years ago and I have medium brown hair. If you just use straight dye it'll show up but won't be extremely noticeable if your hair is naturally pretty dark. If you really want it to be bright blue, then you'll have to lighten your hair first (bleach it) and then dye it. That's sort of drastic though, so be sure you reeeeally want bright blue hair before you do it.

If you want that bright blue, then you'll have to bleach out your natural color before you start dying the blue into it. Very damaging - think this through for the long term....how are you going to deal with roots? Will it suit you lifestyle in six months, one year from now?

To get a lighter color to show up on a darker head of hair, before you dye your hair the desired color you need to bleach it. It's very simple and will definatly make the blue show up. It's best though to get it done proffesionally that way it doesn't get screwed up on accident.

I have the same color hair as you and i dyed my hair blue too a few years ago . Umm...you bleach whatever section you want done then put the dye on and wash it with shampoo but not conditioner. The color will leak a little bit but stay in. I do warn you though, after being in the water for a couple months, your blue hair will turn into a turquoise or sea green color. Good luck!
